Malaysia, tanah tumpah darahku

As we move on step by step to Vision 2020, we are getting more advanced, and ahead of other nations, we slowly march towards our homeland's target, Vision 2020. So to recall the nine challenges we must face and overcome of Vision, Here they are


The first of these is the challenges of establishing a united Malaysian nation with a sense of common and shared destiny. This must be a nation at peace with itself, territorially and ethnically integrated, living in harmony and full and fair partnership, made up of one 'Bangsa Malaysia' with political loyalty and dedication to the nation.

So as we can see, this objective has already been almost achieved. Though there are a few minor problems here and there, Its really not a biggie because we still have more than a decade to fix it.


The second is the challenge of creating a psychologically liberated, secure, and developed Malaysian Society with faith and confidence in itself, justifiably proud of what it is, of what it has accomplished, robust enough to face all manner of adversity. This Malaysian Society must be distinguished by the pursuit of excellence, fully aware of all its potentials, psychologically subservient to none, and respected by the peoples of other nations.

Currently, as we all know Malaysia is already respected in many manners by people from other nations, like our tourism, culture, people and so on. Yea we may have a few wrong points here and there, like rude drivers, bad services in certain places, but overall we should realize that there are good people too who would compensate for that. Through this too, we Malaysians are slowly moving to a more open minded society and able to accept changes plus facts that concerns us or other people and we are slowly pushing our effort to achieve success and excellence.


The third challenge we have always faced is that of fostering and developing a mature democratic society, practicing a form of mature consensual, community-oriented Malaysian democracy that can be a model for many developing countries.

As for this, likewise refers almost identically to the first challenge just alil bit different here and there. Basicly, "kita rakyat Malaysia mesti hidup bersatu-padu demi kebaikan semua" or in other words, living in a democratic and matured manner to be a role model for many other rising nations


The fourth is the challenge of establishing a fully moral and ethical society, whose citizens are strong in religious and spiritual values and imbued with the highest of ethical standards.

We lack quite much from this challenge because its very common, Malaysian are just rude. As we was voted quite a hit on the rudest country. I dont know if this is gonna get worse or better but the way things I look at now, I hardly meet or bump into any kind rudeness so often, therefore I personally think we Malaysians are slowly getting more polite and understanding throughout the years and plus an increase in our religous and spiritual values.


The fifth challenge would be the establishing of a matured, liberal and tolerant society in which Malaysians of all colors and creeds are free to practice and profess their customs, cultures and religious beliefs and yet feeling that they belong to one nation.

This is something like what Ive learnt or maybe to those who do moral studies, something like "kebebasan agama" and "sikap keterbukaan" and yea, like I stated in the second challange, we Malaysians are slowly moving towards this goal, and yet are already practicing it. Just well, tolerant and matured needs to be brushed up alil and there we go! I dont see any problems in customs, cultures and religous beliefs because we all do what we practice and we respect each others faith and beliefs therefore I dont see any problem in this. Besides, its interesting to know other peoples culture and religious belief, dont you think so? Well of course the ones in the history book is plain boring ==, but if we eye-witness it, I think it would be more memorable, probably some would not agree with me, but well, that's the way it is.


The sixth is the challenge of establishing a scientific and progressive society, a society that is innovative and forward-looking, one that is not only a consumer of technology but also a contributor to the scientific and technological civilization of the future.

So many things has changed since the last 10 years, and Im sure Malaysia too will slowly work to have a far more better and advance tech than now as we move on to vision 2020. In example the M-mobile, well yea it might suck real bad unlike other brands but that's a sign Malaysia is advancing slowly right? xD


The seventh challenge is the challenge of establishing a fully caring society and a caring culture, a social system in which society will come before self, in which the welfare of the people will revolve not around the state or the individual but around a strong and resilient family system.

Same reason as challenges above. Once again, we Malaysians must unite in order to achieve the objective above.


The eighth is the challenge of ensuring an economically just society. This is a society in which there is a fair and equitable distribution of the wealth of the nation, in which there is full partnership in economic progress. Such a society cannot be in place so long as there is the identification of race with economic function, and the identification of economic backwardness with race.

Like said above, we need to share and work among the society and its many different races equally and justly. We cant have something like Malay 70% Chinese 20% Indian 7% and others 3% or vice versa. Its something that will discriminate the people and those who earn more, will look down on the others. This in my opinion would probably be the hardest objective to ahcieve.

Finally the ninth challenge is the challenge of establishing a prosperous society, with an economy that is fully competitive, dynamic, robust and resilient.

In other words, a fully developed country with maximum productions and qualities plus oppurtunities, with a peaceful and harmonious life.


The bottom line is, althought Malaysia has its pros and cons, like how we dont have many hawt prostitutes running around for customers but we have "bapuks" with arms bigger than mine looking for customers, or maybe we dont have brothels but we have the back-alley, or maybe we have too many rape cases until there's at least one case in our everyday newspaper, or maybe we dont have uniforms that consist of short skirts like in Japan, or we dont have volcano
eruptions nor frequent and massive earthquakes, or we dont have an education system that pleases everyone, we still live in a wonderful country if you look from a different perspective, after all give Malaysia a chance to develope and reach its goal, Vision 2020 before you make any final thoughts. One thing still good is, piracy! xD.

Anyhow I like Malaysia because in any other country, you will face different sets and sorts of problems unlike or alike in Malaysia, its just everywhere you go in this world, it will be almost the same but that's from my shallow point of view.
